Rust-Oleum “Stops Rust” is the most trusted spray paint for graffiti writers, but its current label is much to be desired. The content is busy and the overall design is basic. Inspired by the minimalist and well designed European paint brands, I designed a minimalist, easily readable, and visually compelling label. I chose values of black to differentiate the three paint finishes Rusto provides (matte, semi-gloss, gloss); something the current design does not do.
